The Reason Bengal Can Never Progress: A Vignette
"Aaj ke share agaro taye lunch khaye neben." ("Today have lunch at 11: 30 a.m.")
This is what the caretaker of the guest house said while I was having my breakfast at 9 a.m. The reason? A very nonchalant "kaal theke pujo shuro hochche toh..aar guest house toh kaal theke bondo thakbe" ("from tomorrow puja starts and all..also the guest house will be closed from tomorrow").
If the bloody puja starts from tomorrow, what's it got to with today? Also, the guest house closes tomorrow, NOT today. Today happens to be a FULL working day!
How in hell can Bengal progress with this attitude?

hahahaha! saala you've got to admit, its kind of funny when you're not dealing with such shit yourself.
sharey egarotae lunch karon kaalke theke chuti, saala. only in bengal.
I don't think this is what they had in mind when they said, "what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tommorow."
This is the third time I'm reading it, and I still think it's funny.
Sorry Oswald, no sympathy. But then you should know that about me by now. :)
